Technology to Produce Custom Results

Waterjet

Waterjet technology is a process that uses high pressure water (up to 50,000 PSI) focused through a diamond orifice, then mixing with an abrasive to cut through virtually any material with high accuracy. The waterjet is controlled with a CNC machine, and the water stream leaves the focusing nozzle at about .040” (about the size of a pencil’s lead)

Here are a few features of our waterjet facility:

  • Full 5 Axis cutting head can operate up to a 45 degree angle
  • Dual cutting heads for efficient cutting in large quantity parts
  • 8'x13' cut envelope
  • Cut up to 12" thick material
  • 5 ton overhead crane

Waterjet Cutting Tolerances

  • 0.015" to 0.500" thick: +/- 0.030"
  • >0.500" to 2" thick: +/- 0.045"
  • >2" to 3" thick: +/- 0.090"
  • >3" thick: +/- 0.125"

Fiber Laser Cutting

Fiber laser cutting is a technology that utilizes a high-powered laser beam to cut metal. Guided by computer-aided design (CAD) files, the laser beam's intense energy is focused on the material's surface, precisely melting, burning, or vaporizing the targeted area. The result is a clean and accurate cut, with minimal waste and high repeatability.

Our 8kw IPG fiber laser cuts metal. It has a 60x120 work area, is capable of cutting up to 1" thick Stainless steel, and has cut speeds up to 4,000 IPM.

Fiber Laser Cutting Tolerances

  • Up to 0.125" thick: +/- 0.008"
  • >0.125" to 1/4" thick: +/- 0.010"
  • >1/4" to 1/2" thick: +/- 0.025"
  • >1/2" to 5/8" thick: +/- 0.035"
  • >5/8" to 3/4" thick: +/- .045"
  • >3/4" to 1" thick: +/- .050"
